Stepping off the plane in Glasgow, I was greeted by an unexpected sunny and hot 30°C weather. I hadn’t packed for this; Scotland isn’t supposed to be this warm.
This marked my first trip back to Europe from New Zealand since the pandemic, and although the journey was lengthy, it felt entirely worthwhile. It struck me how I used to fly this route without a second thought.
With winter behind me and excitement pulsing through my veins for this new adventure, I swiftly overcame jetlag before stepping onto the Ocean Endeavour – my home for the next few months. Finally, my dream of working on expedition ships was coming true with Adventure Canada for the northern summer. I’d be part of seven trips, exploring from Scotland to the Faroe Islands, Iceland to Greenland, and all around Arctic Canada.
Let’s get going, everyone!
